About RichMUN

RichMUN is one of Asia's best and most recognized student-run simulations of the United Nations, registered under the Education Outreach Program of the United Nations and endorsed by the Ministry of Education of Sri Lanka. During these trying times, we decided to take RichMUN online, for the first time in the history of RichMUN, complying with the health guidelines put forth by the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. This year’s conference is the 4th session and this year's conference will be held on Saturday the 13th of February, 2021.

RichMUN '17

In 2017, the inaugural session of RichMUN came to its end successfully at the NSBM Green University Town on the 7th and 8th of October with the participation of over 375 delegates. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Prasad Kariyawasam (Secretary - Ministry of foreign affairs 2017) as the chief guest of the opening ceremony. He took part in a Q & A discussion.

RichMUN '18

The 2nd session of RichMUN was held at the Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle on 13th & 14th of October 2019, featuring 278 young diplomats in 5 committees. The opening ceremony was graced by 18th commander of Sri Lanka Navy, Admiral Professor Jayanath Colombage, being the keynote speaker of the function, while the UN Young Delegate for 2017, Miss Sheshadri Kottearachchi took part in the Q & A session.

RichMUN '19

RichMUN ‘19, the 3rd session of RichMUN was held on the 11th and 12th January 2020 at the Jetwing Lighthouse, Galle. Spanning across 5 committees, 250 delegates debated on global issues. The opening ceremony was graced by Admiral Professor Jayanath Colambage, secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
